About Neon Billiards Pool

8 Ball Pool brings the classic game of billiards straight to your browser. Break the rack, claim your group of balls, clear the table and finish by sinking the black 8 ball. It is relaxed enough for a quick game, but has plenty of depth for players who like to plan their shots carefully.

The rules follow standard eight ball. After the break, the first ball you pot decides your group: solids numbered 1 to 7 or stripes numbered 9 to 15. You then need to pot all of your balls before going for the 8 ball. Sink the 8 ball too early, or commit a foul while potting it, and you lose the game. A foul, such as potting the cue ball, hitting the wrong ball first or hitting nothing at all, gives your opponent ball in hand. To shoot, you can pull back from the white ball and let go, or drag to aim, set power on the power bar and press shoot.

There is a lot to enjoy here. You can play against the computer on Easy, Normal or Hard, or face a friend on the same device in 2 player mode. The balls roll realistically, and you can add top spin, back spin or side spin to control where the cue ball goes after contact. A helpful aiming guide shows the path of your shot, and the line turns green when the ball is heading into a pocket. You can also choose from four tables, Classic, Modern, Premium and Neon, and six cues, Classic, Pro, Gold, Neon, Fire and Ice.

Some tips to improve your game:
- Think one shot ahead. Use spin so the cue ball stops in a good spot for your next pot.
- Use back spin to pull the cue ball away from a pocket and avoid scratching.
- Do not hit every shot hard. Softer shots are often more accurate and keep the table under control.
- Watch for the green aiming line before you shoot to make sure the pot is on.

Rack them up and see if you can clear the table before your opponent does. 8 Ball Pool is free to play in your browser on mobile, tablet or PC.
